Paint is barely dry on the new Tacoma’s and this guy already got his tasteless 18 inch wheels with 33 inch tires on there.
I guess there is something to be said for sticking with the same basic foundations, as I am guessing this diff drop kit came from the 2nd gen truck.

18s are the new 16s.
It doesn’t seem that long ago that it was a bit of a big deal when a car came with 18” wheels.

Would look better with stock wheels, but the stance is nice (if a little nose high...maybe its just me)

Thing is...the TRD comes with 16 or 17 inch wheels and if you are legit off roading there is a reason to stick with the smaller wheels.

I’m still convinced that 18s are as big as wheels should get.

“legit off roading”
I’m going to wager this fella isn’t doing a whole lot of that.

I don’t know, I think it just depends on the context. There are lots of vehicles with 19-20” wheels that look nice to me.

so true...so sad.

WHAT ABOUT MONSTER TRUCKS!!!!
...sorry that was excessive

Think of it this way:
Dudes like this purchase soft compound AT/MT tires because they “look cool”. They proceed to drive 12,000 miles a year on nothing but paved roads with them and end up having to replace them much earlier than they would have to replace all seasons.
They buy more AT/MT tires, which means more profits for tire manufacturers. More profits means more R&D. More R&D means better tires for guys like you who actually used the for their intended purpose.

We’re talking Daytona after the 500 level tackiness.

Maybe he just parts-swapped from his old one before selling/trading it in?

new rims and tires, new springs and shocks too.

There is nothing worse than putting ugly aftermarket rims on your truck.

And it will never see so much as a gravel parking lot.

nope.

Could be the dealer that did that. I see new Jeeps and trucks on the lot with those ugly ugly rims and cheap lift kits.

Its a nice lift kit, new leafs, new coils with shocks, new diff drop...its all legit stuff...but I wouldn’t put it past the dealer. Im just upset that this kind of thing happens to nice Tacomas.

Funny thing is, that wheel/tire package looks tiny to me.
That being said, I hate large wheels. What a waste (not to mention added weight)

What’s the big deal about a 2004 lifted Taco?

The XP dealer-installed option package from the ‘15 Taco and current 4-runner has those exact wheels.

Never heard of that, is it a local deal?

I know there have been a bunch in here for leather/sunroofs. It’s usually an SR5 4wd that they dress up like that.
